The NSW Government’s Joint Regional Planning Panel today approved a Development Application (DA) for South Jerrabomberra Stage 1 which will allow for the development of the first 318 housing lots and 9 medium density sites enabling up to approximately 630 dwellings.

South Jerrabomberra Project Director, Clare Gilligan said that after 16 years of hard work by the Village Building Co the approval of the South Jerrabomberra Stage 1 development application is a significant step forward in the process of bringing this highly anticipated community to the market.

The acceptance of the revised South Jerrabomberra Stage 1 DA follows key milestone approvals including the State Planning Agreement, the QPRC Local Infrastructure Plan, the Local Planning Agreement, the Development Control Plan and the Review of Environmental Factors, which resolved a number of state and local infrastructure issues.

“South Jerrabomberra has been a complex project to date that has required patience, determination and tenacity and the approval of the stage 1 DA means we can start work on developing this beautiful community.

“Although we have made significant progress, we are not yet in a position to provide land release details or sales timelines as there is still a considerable amount of work to be done including the commencement of extensive lead-in infrastructure,”  Ms Gilligan said.

South Jerrabomberra is a new residential release area that is expected to have a population of 5,500 people living in approximately 1,500 homes.
